China produced 279.8 billion integrated circuits in the first half of 2026, equivalent to more than 1.5 billion units a day on average. The output represented a 23.1% growth year on year, an official said Wednesday. Bolstered by the global artificial intelligence boom, surging demand for high-performance computing and memory chips has driven rapid growth in China's chip production.
