China was home to eight of the world's 10 busiest ports by cargo throughput and six of the top 10 by container throughput in 2025, as its ports handled 18.3 billion metric tons of cargo and 354 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of containers, both ranking first globally, a senior transport official said Tuesday.
