The Three Gorges new waterway project, launched on June 8 as China's first major landmark project during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), will significantly boost the shipping efficiency of China's golden waterway along the Yangtze River, said Yang Huaxiong, director general of the Water Transport Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, at a Tuesday press conference.
