China's economy maintained steady momentum in May amid external uncertainties

Total retail sales of consumer goods topped 4.13 trillion yuan (about 575.3 billion U.S. dollars) last month, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). China's economy continued to expand steadily in May, supported by ongoing policy measures that helped sustain recovery amid global uncertainties, official data showed on Monday.
