An online open house event was recently held for the Great Stone Industrial Park in Belarus, showcasing the park's development and operations.

In the livestream, traces of the original area have disappeared, replaced a modern industrial park after five years of construction and growth.

Development of the park began on May 12, 2015, when leaders of China and Belarus first inspected the area together. Its construction was led by China National Machinery Industry Corporation Ltd. (Sinomach) and China Merchants Group (CMG).

Located in Belarus, a country in central Eurasia, the industrial park neighbors the Minsk International Airport and is traversed by the international highway connecting Berlin and Moscow.

The park's location makes it a key transfer station of the China-Europe freight trains. It is also a top choice for countries in Asia and the Eurasian Union as a place for investment and business startup.

Taking advantage of preferential policy from the Belarus government, 68 enterprises in the fields of logistics, telecommunications, machine manufacturing, and biomedicine have taken office at the park. They include 36 Chinese enterprises, 32 of which are based in Belarus and other countries and regions.

The enterprises have created more than 6,000 jobs, and their contract investment value has reached nearly US$1.22 billion.

CMG's trade and logistics park, which consists of an exhibition and trade center, a business center, and a warehouse center, was the first to operate in the Great Stone Industrial Park. It also has the most investment and covers the largest area.

The science and technology innovation center funded by China's Ministry of Commerce launched operations at the end of 2020. Construction of the Torch Park invested by Sinomach will begin soon. The park will focus on innovation incubation.

The projects are expected to boost high-quality development of the industrial park based on cutting-edge manufacturing and technological research and development.

In the livestream, testing of autonomous vehicles was shown to the audience. Each vehicle is equipped with a 5G-based cooperative vehicle infrastructure system as well as a real-time kinematic positioning and millimeter-wave radar developed by high-tech enterprises in the park. They operated safely and reliably in the park.

The open house event also showed the sponsors' concern for neighboring areas during development of the park.

Roads of the villages within the park and football pitches nearby were renovated, and kids of the local orphanage received gifts and supplies.

In the future, the park intends to evolve into an international and livable industrial center equipped with schools, hospitals, and shopping malls.
