Hehe Culture Research Institute of Taizhou University

It is a bounden duty for the colleges and universities in Taizhou to study, publicize and promote Hehe Culture. In 2017, the Hehe Culture Research Institute was established in Taizhou University. This is China's first substantive research institution focusing on Hehe Culture. It reflects the great importance that the Taizhou Municipal People's Government and Taizhou University have attached to the research on Hehe Culture.

Grown out of the Taizhou Humanities Research Institute founded in Taizhou Normal College in 1992, the Hehe Culture Research Institute has a tradition of studying Tiantai Mountains culture. It consists of the Center for Hehe Culture, the Center for Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism, and the Center for the Tang Poetry Road, thus having a layout that takes Hehe Culture as the main focus, Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism as the basis, and the Tang Poetry Road as the unique form of cultural communication. The study of Hehe Culture includes research on the culture's formation, connotations, historical significance and contemporary value. The study of Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism mainly focuses on Neo-Confucianism, Tiantai Buddhism and the South Sect of Daoism. The study of the Tang Poetry Road involves literature and art, history and geography, economy and trade, religious beliefs, folk customs and dialects, transportation and tourism along the Tang Poetry Road in east Zhejiang.

In 2017, the institute undertook the "Research on Tiantai Mountains Hehe Culture," a major research program as part of the Zhejiang Cultural Research Program (Phase II). In 2020, it concluded its research and published five related books: Index of Research on Tiantai Mountains Hehe Culture compiled by Yang Gongfa, An Introduction to Tiantai Mountains Hehe Culture by He Shanmeng and Chen Ruigang, A History of Tiantai Mountains Hehe Culture by Zhang Yan, Interregional Diffusion of Tiantai Mountains Hehe Culture by Qu Xiaoyu, Hao Jinguang and Sun Minghui, and The Contemporary Value of Tiantai Mountains Hehe Culture by Yang Gongfa and Wang Tingting. These books pioneered systematic research on Tiantai Mountains Hehe Culture. 

台州学院和合文化研究院 

和合文化的研究、普及和推广,是台州本地高校义不容辞的责任。2017年,台州学院成立和合文化研究院。这是国内第一个以和合文化为中心的实体性研究机构,体现了台州市人民政府和台州学院对和合文化研究的高度重视。

台州学院和合文化研究院,前身为台州师专成立于1992年的台州人文研究室,已形成研究天台山文化的优良传统。台州学院和合文化研究院下设和合文化研究所、儒释道研究所、唐诗之路研究所,负责三个方向的学术研究,确立了“以和合文化为本质特征、以儒释道文化为基础、以唐诗之路为独特传播形态”的总体研究布局。和合文化研究包括对中国和合文化的形成、内涵、历史地位及其当代价值的研究;儒释道文化研究主要包括对以理学为主的儒家文化、以佛教天台宗为主的佛教文化和以道教南宗为主的道教文化等的研究;唐诗之路研究包括浙东唐诗之路沿线的文学艺术、历史地理、经济贸易、宗教信仰、民俗方言、交通旅游等领域的研究。

台州学院和合文化研究院于2017年承担了浙江省文化工程(二期)的重大研究项目“天台山和合文化研究”,2020年完成相关研究并出版《天台山和合文化研究文献索引》(杨供法编著)、《天台山和合文化概论》(何善蒙、陈锐钢著)、《天台山和合文化史》(张燕著)、《天台山和合文化的“跨域”传播》(屈啸宇、郝金广、孙明辉著)以及《天台山和合文化的当代价值研究》(杨供法、王廷婷著)等5部专著,这是国内第一套系统研究天台山和合文化的学术丛书。
