China-Australia artist dialogue exhibition kicks off at Sydney

Themed "One Leaf Knows Spring and Autumn," the China-Australia Artist Dialogue Exhibition kicked off on Thursday evening, which was organized by the China Cultural Center Sydney and will run until Sept. 23.

The exhibition featured 28 works from five artists with different cultural backgrounds and artistic styles from China and Australia, while the art forms included Suzhou embroidery, canvas painting and others.

In his opening speech, Xiao Xiayong, director of the China Cultural Center Sydney, said that on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of China-Australia diplomatic relations, the exhibition is expected to promote the exchange and cooperation between the two countries, bring the hearts of people closer and consolidate the popular foundation.

As the curator and former artistic director of Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre, Nicholas Tsoutas said that the exhibition brings together Chinese, Chinese-Australian and Australian artists in a creative investigation of beauty in art, valuing and promoting artistic dialogues between the two cultures.
