A seminar on the Arabic language version of the book “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China” was held during the ongoing Abu Dhabi International Book Fair in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on April 26.

Wu Shangzhi, vice minister of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television, said that the book expounds China’s development ideals and path and domestic and foreign policies, and systematically presents the new governing philosophy and strategies of Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The book seminar was also held to enhance the recognition of the spirit of the Silk Road and deepen the relations between China and the Arab world. Wu said that China and the Arab world are “natural partners” in jointly building the Belt and Road thanks to their affinity forged along the ancient trade route. Now with the Arabic version of Xi’s book, Arabic-speaking readers can better learn about the dreams and aspirations of the Chinese nation and understand the relations between China and the world.

Ni Jian, the Chinese ambassador to the UAE, said the Arabic language version of the book provides a key opportunity for people in the UAE and Middle East to learn about contemporary China.

The book was first published in October 2014 and has so far been translated into 20 languages.
