A documentary exploring the changes in China from the perspectives of six average Chinese debuted in Beijing Thursday.

Titled "Changing China: Life is Marvelous Because of You," the documentary was co-produced by the China Intercontinental Communication Center and the Discovery Channel.

The protagonists of the documentary include an obstetrician, police officer, deliveryman and boxer, history teacher, space scientist and entrepreneur, and wall painting researcher.

The shooting crew traveled to 26 Chinese cities in three years to film, said Cheng Gong, director of the documentary. The film is scheduled to be released nationwide on Friday.

Based on the documentary, the Discovery Channel adapted a two-episode TV program of the same name, which will be aired in over 20 countries and regions from December.
