Quzhou holds conference to promote city brand

The First Development Conference of Quzhou People & Garden City Construction Forum was held in the city located in east China's Zhejiang province, on Sept. 22, seeking to attract more talents to promote the city brand.

With a theme of "New Era and New Generation, New Business Type and New Driving Force, New Future and New Quzhou", the forum invited over 800 Quzhou people from various social circles to consider the future business environment and promotion of the Quzhou brand.

It showcased achievements in the city's socio-economic development in recent years, hoping to attract more individual entrepreneurs and companies to invest in the city. 

Tang Feifan, deputy secretary of the CPC Quzhou Municipal Committee, and mayor of Quzhou City, presided and read out various congratulatory letters. Che Jun, secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee, highly evaluating Quzhou people's work ethic. 

Xu Wenguang, secretary of the CPC Quzhou Municipal Committee, introduced its blueprint for future urban planning in his keynote speech. He said Quzhou should take a new path of development in the new era. "Under the '1433' strategic system, Quzhou will attach great importance to develop two major emerging sectors – a 'happiness' industry and various smart industries. With the help of the Internet and big data, Quzhou aims to become the best city in terms of the community governance in China."

Xu pointed out that the city's development is closely connected with the future of every Quzhou people. He hoped an optimized business environment could attract more leading enterprises. 

At the signing ceremony of startups and innovation programs, a total of 41 projects worth 49.57 billion yuan (US$723 million) were signed during the forum.

The grand gathering is held to mark the 40th anniversary of China's reform and opening up that began in 1978, and to implement the city's new strategy. The event also features an award ceremony and "Beautiful Garden City" Talent-Ecology Promotion Conference, where launched the provincial "1,000 Talented People Project" and global map for Quzhou elites.
