The inaugural World Manufacturing Convention will be held from May 25 to 27 in Hefei, Anhui province, according to the announcement at a press conference on April 18.

The convention will be hosted by the Global Alliance of SMEs, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and the Anhui provincial government. Attendees will include officials, scholars and more than 2,000 participants from 25 countries and regions.

Focusing on innovation and manufacturing, the convention will feature seven exhibitions to showcase new technologies including new energy vehicles, intelligent robots, artificial intelligence and high-end equipment manufacturing.

Apart from the exhibitions, the convention will also include 10 forums on various topics regarding the smart manufacturing industry.

The 2018 Anhui Investment & Trade Expo will be held at the same time.
