Development of high-grade, precision and advanced industries in Beijing is doing well, according to information released at the Beijing Economy and Informatization Working Conference. The industrial added value in Beijing grew by 5.4 percent year-on-year in 2017, and the operation revenue of the city's software and information service industries grew by 13.9 percent, both growing beyond the set targets.

In August last year, China's information technology authorities issued a list of China's Top 100 Internet Enterprises in 2017. Thirty-two companies based in Beijing made the list, the most in the country.

Last year, Beijing established seven new industrial innovation centers and accredited 74 enterprise technology centers. Meanwhile, the capital was the first in the country to issue an establishment standard for enterprises' technology centers.

The city also promoted green manufacturing engineering and launched the "Smart Manufacturing 100" project. It issued and implemented an action plan for the integrative development of the manufacturing industry and the internet, increasingly integrating the index of informatization and industrialization by 5.1 percent.

Moreover, Beijing has coordinately advanced the integration of military and civilian industries and the cooperation between state-owned enterprises and local enterprises. These cooperation projects included the establishment of a metamaterial research institute for Kuang-Chi Group in the Future Science City, an innovative and venture base in Changping District.

At the end of last year, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology and the Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission jointly drafted and issued the guidance for developing 10 high-grade, precision and advanced industries such as information technology, integrated circuit and new materials. The authorities also released a series of papers on related supporting policies and measures, further improving policy and mechanism for development of high-grade, precision and advanced industries. The city established eight specialized funds for these industries, and helped to raise more than 10 times more in private funding.

In addition, the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region has further advanced its industrial collaboration. Major projects including special vehicles by the Beijing Urban Constructing Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.'s were put into production at the Beijing-Caofeidian Modern Industry Development Pilot Zone. Construction of four enterprises including the Beijing-Cangzhou Biomedical industrial park and the Beijing Winsunny Harmony Science & Technology Co., Ltd. were completed and under pilot production. Construction started for the Beijing-Luannan Big Health Industrial Park. The Application Awareness Experience Center and Big Data Collaborative Processing Center of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Big Data Comprehensive Experimental Zone have started operation.
